Extensions

How much will an Extension cost?

Each Extension is individual to each client but a budget cost would be in the order of:

  • A small single-storey Extension built under Permitted Development Rights would be in the region of £20,000 to £30,000
  • A larger single-storey Extension built with Planning Permission would be in the region of £50,000 to £60,000
  • A larger 2-storey Extension with Planning Permission would be in the region of £70,000 to £100,000

Which areas of Cornwall do you cover?

We cover the whole of Cornwall.

How do you quote the price of an Extension?

An initial visit is made in order to talk through your requirements, see if the project is plausible and give a ‘ball-park’ estimation.

If you then wish to proceed to a fixed quote, we will instruct our architect to visit, measure up, then do a schematic drawing showing what can be achieved. From this we can put together a quote stating exactly what will be done.

Where can I see an Extension carried out by your company?

We can arrange for you to see our previous clients Extensions from one of our many satisfied customer.

Do I need planning permission?

We will check the proposed scheme against the Permitted Development Rights Document 2362 and advise, not all will need planning permission but all require Building Regulation Approval

How quickly can work begin?

Usually within 12 weeks of required permissions being approved.

Can you prepare and apply for planning permission for my Extension?

Yes, our preferred architect can take care of all plans and regulatory approvals.

How long will an Extension take to complete?

For a small Extension 6-8 weeks and up to 12-16 weeks for a larger Extension.

How much mess will there be?

We will often have to have machinery to dig the footings, so there is always an element of disruption to the garden. However we always do our best to keep this to a minimum. We only break through to the existing house towards the end of the build to try and minimise any disruption to your day to day.

Who oversees the Extension?

The manager of Rise carry out regular visits to ensure work is running to plan and assist smooth introduction of any required changes.
